[分享] 三月三十日前拉斐爾文藝課想討論的畫作與問題
大家好，
這禮拜的兩篇文章都很清楚明瞭，
不過基於這原因，老師希望我們的討論可以不要專注在這兩篇文章上。
在這裡先附上想討論的畫作與問題，
希望大家茶餘飯後可以看看，星期一時大家一起來分享自己的看法！
畫(除了essay當中討論的以外):
1) Siddal's Clerk Saunders
2) Siddal's Lady Affixing Pennant to a Knight's Spear
(a.k.a. Before the Battles)
3) Siddal's Lady Clair
4) Siddal's Self-Portrait
5) Rossetti 's sketches of Elizabeth Siddal
(這部份在Rossetti Archive裡面有七十二張，沒有標號，不過大方向的畫風一致)
6) Rossetti's Lady of Shalott
7) John Everett Millais' Ophelia
問題：
1) How do you interpret the word "volatile" in the motto of The Pet?
2) How do you characterize Siddal's female figures in her paintings?
3) Do Siddal's paintings strike you as different from what you understand
as the Pre-Raphaelite style?
4) Compare Siddal in Rossetti's sketches and in her self-portrait.
5) In what ways can you reconstruct Siddal outside the context of Rossetti in
your reading of her? Or is it necessary?
6) How do you read Ophelia in terms of structure, setting, and Siddal's pose?
