The Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of
Cincinnati announces opening for Ph.D. study in the field of
membrane separation, nanobiotechnology, polymer and colloidal
science. Requires a B.S. or M.S. degree in Chemistry, Chemical
Engineering, or Material Science. Guaranteed fellowship for five
years starting at 18,000 USD/year plus benefit and tuition waiver.
Department of Chemical Engineering at UC is located in a brand new
Engineering Research Center with excellent facility. The
individual will get the opportunity to participate in national
meetings, and work closely with scientists in various disciplines
in the NSF funded membrane center and MEMS center in UC. Our
department work closely with industries and government agencies
and currently have annual funding exceeding 1.5 million USD from:
US Air Force Base Research Labs, Shevron Texaco, Proctor and Gamble
Pharmaceuticals, Nestle Food Research Labs, Dow, Dupont, National
Science Foundation, Millipore Corporation, Environmental Protection
Agency, Shell...etc.

cho@alpha.che.uc.edu. The position starts September 2003 with
the application deadline Jan 15 2003. We are seeking motivated
students and the TOEFL and GRE scores are not so critical.
M.S. degree is not required for applying for Ph.D. but students
with independent research experience are preferred.
