課程名稱︰從夸克到黑洞 課程性質︰通識A7:物質科學領域 課程教師︰黃偉彥 開課學院: 開課系所︰ 考試日期(年月日)︰101/6/20 考試時限(分鐘):90分鐘 是否需發放獎勵金:是 (如未明確表示,則不予發放) 試題 : Problem 1: Many scientists recognized Descartes as the father of "modern scinece",by the belief that every thing should follow from (1)and(2). The discovery from Joseph von Fraunhofer of (3) in the rainbow had the impact of being able to study the stars. This is one good example of modern science.(10%) Problem 2: An astriod hitting the Earth would spell the end of our world. Try to estimate the loss of the kinetic energy, mass*velocity**2/2, for an astroid of size of one kilometer in diameter. Try to use the typical astroid velocity. Convert everything to the cgs(cm-gram-second) system and the final unit in kinetic energy would be in ergs. A severe car accident would be to stop a one-ton car with a speed of 200km/hour. This exercise just gives you some feeling of the severe situation. How could you stop the mother Earth from such disaster?(10%) Problem 3: What is the Zeno Paradox? These days we know that there is the quantum law at around 10^(-8)cm (one anstron;the atom size) to 10^(-13)cm(one Fermi; the size of a nucleus)- the strange quantum law. Try to state the modern version of the Zeno paradox in view of the quatum law. (20%) Problem 4:What is the underlying reason that pushed Einstein in searching for the general relativity?(20%) Problem 5:The distance of Vega from us is twenty-six something years if traveled by the light(the fastest in this world). In the class, I argue that it only takes the astronaut about three months to get there. The professor seems to be joking, is that so? Explain.(20%) Problem 6:There are lots of very smart people mentioned in this course. Could you name more than five and the reasons why you name him/her?(20%) -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 140.112.198.14 ※ 編輯: KatzeLavia 來自: 140.112.198.14 (06/20 17:27)
