新聞轉錄自ESPN網頁： http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=5022064 新規則目前只適用於季後賽。簡單翻譯： Both teams must have the opportunity to possess the ball once during the extra period, unless the team that receives the opening kickoff scores a touchdown on its initial possession, in which case it is the winner. 兩隊至少都得持球一次，若先持球的球隊(A)把握首次球權達陣，則比賽結束。 If the team that possesses the ball first scores a field goal on its initial possession, the other team shall have the opportunity to possess the ball.
