Postgraduate Conference Call for Papers
October 28, 2010 (Thursday)
National Taiwan University DFLL
This conference seeks to bring together postgraduate students
and academics working on early modern English literature,
history, and religion from a variety of disciplines and fields to
explore the significance of the religious controversy in the
history and literature of early modern England.
Abstracts of 200-300 words in length are invited from young
scholars working in the fields of early modern English literature,
history, and religion. The abstracts for a 20-min paper are still
accepted by 10/24 (Sun). Please direct your abstract to jhjs2@cam.ac.uk
On the previous day to the conference there will also be a lecture
conducted by Dr. Brad Gregory on the topic of "The Premodern Roots
of the Western Postmodern Condition: The Reformation, Modern Philosophy,
and the State."
Date: 10/27 (Wed) 15:30~17:00
Location: DFLL new conference room, old main library, NTU.
Dr Gregory's milestone Salvation at Stake won six prizes
including the Thomas J. Wilson Prize, Harvard University Press
and the John Gilmary Shea Prize, American Catholic Historical
Association. He is now a Dorothy G. Griffin Associate Professor of
Early Modern European History at the University of Notre Dame.
