Atlanta Spirit 於 2004 年以 $208 mil 買下老鷹隊的經營權。
此公司同時擁有 Atlanta Hawks(NBA)、Atlanta Thrashers(NHL)
和 Philip Arena 的經營權。
Atlanta Spirit 有九個合夥人，Steve Belkin, Michael Gearon Jr.,
Bruce Levenson, Ed Peskowitz, J. Rutherford Seydel, Todd Foreman,
J. Michael Gearon Sr., Bud Seretean, and Beau Turner. 這些合夥人
又分別來自亞特蘭大、波士頓和華盛頓特區三個地方。
Steve Belkin 為最大的股東，不過在 05 年夏天因為 Joe Johnson 的大額
合約使他與其他股東意見分歧，造成了經營權之爭的訴訟案，目前檯面上的
老闆為 Michael Gearon Jr.。
除了本身合夥人的內鬨，David McDavid 對於 Time Warner 集團將老鷹隊
經營權賣給了 Atlanta Spirit 也很不以為然，他宣稱當時他已經與賣家
達成了協議，可是 Atlanta Spirit 卻不知如何弄出了一個條文說假如賣家
將球隊賣給 McDavid 則需賠償 Atlanta Spirit $10 mil。所以使經營權
最後落在 Atlanta Spirit 手上。
