Lack of fire infuriates Heat's Riley

Miami ?There's no doubt the Heat is hurting.
Coach Pat Riley would like his players to hurt even more.
He doesn't think their pride was stung by the way the Nuggets enjoyed their
123-107 victory Friday in Denver.
毫無疑問，Heat正灼傷邁阿密，

The Heat fell to 2-2 on the road trip without putting up much of a fight, in
Riley's view. The Heat plays host to Toronto tonight, the first of four home
games in the next five, but injuries are accumulating and Riley is agitated.

Riley wants that fire -- injuries or not. He said effort and execution still
are expected, regardless of starters Shaquille O'Neal (knee) and Jason
Williams (knee) sitting, and Gary Payton (Achilles') ailing.

Williams practiced Sunday and could return tonight but Dwyane Wade (root
canal), Udonis Haslem (ill) and Payton are questionable after sitting out
practice. O'Neal, out since Nov. 19 surgery, is expected to miss at least
another month.

So the Heat continues dealing with injuries to its key players, playing well
in spurts and at times drawing the ire of its coach for inconsistent effort.
All that should sound familiar.

The Heat followed a similar pattern last season before getting healthy,
finding fits for role players and winning the NBA championship.

"It's very similar," Payton said. "I'm glad [the struggling] is always early
and not late. When everybody gets back, then we can [better] evaluate
