Why a police officer working Pelicans game has a Mavericks’ championship ring ? 什麼！鵜鶘的保全有小牛的冠軍戒？ Andre Menzies has been working as a police officer for more than 35 years. He ’s done security work for Michael Jackson, among others, and now works at New Orleans Pelicans games at Smoothie King Center. So what’s he doing wearing a Dallas Mavericks’ championship ring? In 2011, the Mavericks made a late-season trip to New Orleans and owner Mark Cuban, who had gotten to know Menzies through the years, was talking to him near the Mavericks’ bench. “I told Mark that day that they were going to win the championship,” Menzies said. “I asked him if they did if I was going to get a ring. He said I’d get a ring. Menzies said he told colleagues of the promise by Cuban to give him a ring. Nobody believed it until it arrived about the same time the Mavericks got theirs on opening night of the 2011-12 season. “They asked if it was real and I said I insured it like it’s real, so it’s real,” Menzies said.
