It was two years ago to the day that the Mavericks won the NBA title.
Perhaps to commemorate the cherished memory, or perhaps because he’s a
billionaire and pretty much does what he pleases, Mavericks owner Mark Cuban
tweeted this picture of him … standing in a urinal with the Larry O’Brien
trophy.
Hey, more power to Cubes. He paid handsomely and worked tirelessly to bring
Mavs fans a trophy; it’s only natural that he may be a little
over-protective.
These days, you can’t take your eyes off a championship trophy.
Remember the stories about the adventures of the Stanley Cup after the Stars
won it in 1999.
You may also remember this photo of Cubes, enjoying a victory cigar with the
trophy on the way back from the Mavericks’ triumph in Miami.
It’s good to be the king. Most days, anyway. Unless you’re off doing Shark
Tank while your team is making its pitch to a prized free agent.
Here’s some more reminders about just how good it was for Cuban, the Mavs
and their fans during that glorious postseason run.
Anyway, here’s hoping Cuban, as he says on his tweet, is able to get another
chance to take a victory photo with the O’Brien trophy following a Mavericks
title.
And here’s hoping he put the trophy down for just a few seconds to wash his
hands.
