Here are some highlights: 我們的GM小尼接受了廣播電台的採訪，討論內容是有關開季前的一些交易～ On why they allowed Tyson Chandler, Caron Butler and J.J. Barea to leave: You can’t have your cake and eat it, too. If you want to re-sign those guys, then you’re not going to have a chance at the big boys this summer. So if we want to continue to do special things, kind of like we did last year, you’ve got to be in play with those opportunities. We certainly haven’t taken a step back. We feel like we have the firepower in a different way. We probably need to bolster the frontcourt a little bit, but we’ve got one of the most versatile front lines in the league, we felt really good about Brendan Haywood being our starting center [last year] until Tyson just had a special year. We don’t have Tyson, but I think that we haven’t gone backward. 主持人：為什麼你們讓拳王、卡巴和一哥離開達拉斯咧？小尼：「呃，我打個比方好了…當你面前有一塊蛋糕的時候，你不可能擁有那塊蛋糕卻又同時吃掉它。（超妙的比喻XDD）如果要跟他們續約，那意味著我們在明年夏天將沒有辦法有所一番作為。就像我們去年簽下拳王那樣，我們必須懂得利用這些機會去跟別人競爭。不過我確定的是我們不會因為沒跟拳王卡巴一哥續約就失去競爭力啦，我們還是很強，只是我們換了一種形式來表現而已，我們或許需要補強一下前場（拜託快換來大懶伯吧！！譯者註）不過我們的前場可以說是聯盟最強的（有點嘴砲…其實也有道理，我們前場有老大Dirk、最佳第六人Odom、全能猿人Marion 跟超硬大叔Cardinal，以及一個上季最後一場學會後仰的Mahinmi。噢對了，還有Haywood（喂XDDD）雖然我們失去了拳王，但是，我想我們的戰力並不會輸給其他隊伍」（真的嗎…） On why they didn't choose to stick with a known commodity in Tyson Chandler: Because the known isn’t exactly a known. It’s not like he hasn’t had issues in the past, right? So you’re assessing risk at every step. If you’re tying into a four-year deal, there’s risk involved, whether it’s injury or otherwise. Like I said, we wouldn’t have done what we did last year without Tyson. There’s no question about that. But again, we feel like we’re positioned for next year’s free agent crop, which is a special one, and we have not gone backwards. 主持人：為什麼在拳王打出那麼精采的表現以後，你們卻不將他留下呢？小尼：「呃，因為狀況跟大家所知道並不完全相同。拳王過去有些傷痛紀錄，而這是你在續約前，必須去評估風險的一個因素。如果你打算給四年約，那這些可能會受傷或是其他的因素就是你必須去考量的，涉及其中的風險。」 On why he doesn't feel the club has regressed by losing Chandler: It wasn’t just Tyson that won us the championship. Number 41 had a little something to do with it. The two Jasons had a little something to do with it. We had a lot of guys that stepped up and had a special year. There’s risk in everything, so obviously, flexibility is extremely important given the new set of rules and circumstances, and nobody understands those rules better than Mark Cuban does. We’re happy with the team, we’re happy with the direction, and we’ll be a little different. 主持人：你們不覺得失去拳王以後，球隊戰力會因此下降嗎？小尼：「我們贏得總冠軍不只是單靠拳王而已，老大、JET、老基都功不可沒，我們聚集了很多不錯的傢伙們，大家齊心協力，最後奪得總冠軍。一切都有風險，顯見的，在新的勞資協議以後保持陣容的靈活性是非常重要的一件事。而且也沒有人比馬哭伯還要更理解這套遊戲規則了（小尼不要趁機巴結老闆XDD！）我們替這支球隊感到很高興，也替我們所做的這些決定高興。而且，我們也將作出一些改變。」 On whether the Mavs are done dealing: You’re never done in the NBA. Never. You’re always upgrading and tweaking and looking for advantages. So we’re not a perfect team, but we weren’t last year, either.
