Game 2 preview: Carlisle wants Mavericks to use the force

Everybody's heard it a hundred times. When you start a playoff series on the
road, the goal is always to get one of the first two games in the opponent's
gym.
大家可能已經聽過上百次了，就是， 當一支球隊在一個季後賽系列賽從客場開始時

What the Mavericks have facing them tonight is the chance to get two at the
Staples Center before the Western Conference semifinals goes to American
Airlines Center. Not thinking that they have done their job by getting one in
LA is a key objective.

"We're trying to win every game,'' coach Rick Carlisle said after this
morning's shootaround. "When you lose the first game of the series, you're
always going to come back with more force. Oklahoma City did it last night
(against Memphis). These guys (the Lakers) are going to do it tonight. We got
to be ready and we have to bring more force ourselves.''

Being forceful clearly is the theme heading into Game 2 in a few hours.

"They're going to come with more force and we got to make sure we're
concentrating on our own game,'' Carlisle said. "We got to be ready to
release pressure. We got to be ready for a more physical game. But at the end
of the day, we got to play our game better than they play their game.''

The Mavericks clearly understand that the Lakers are going to view tonight's
game as a must-win situation. Going to Dallas down 0-2 would put them in a
heap of distress. But the Mavericks don't feel like they are playing with
house money. They know they can play better than they did in Game 1 and they
also know there's a very good chance that they'll have to win more than once
on LA's home floor to win this series.

Carlisle said the Mavericks are expecting some new wrinkles from the Lakers.
But the bottom line is that there are a few basic ingredients that are
essential if they hope to take a commanding lead in the series.

"The interesting thing about this series is it's two teams that play out of
flow,'' Carlisle said. "There isn't a lot of play-calling going on. Things

the end of the day is going to go a long way toward determining the outcome.''
