OAKLAND, Calif. -- You might say the Dallas Mavericks shot themselves in the
foot Saturday night, but that would have required them actually being able to
hit something when they shot.

Pitiful 3-point shooting led to a horrid third quarter and a 99-92 loss to
the Golden State Warriors at Oracle Arena as their longest road trip of the
season continued to unravel.

One play in the fourth quarter symbolized the Mavericks' night. Stephen Curry
missed a jumper, but Thornton twice tipped the rebound to keep it alive

The Mavericks went to their small lineup down the stretch to try to juice up

Curry's 3-pointer with 1:47 to go made it 96-90. After a basket by Shawn
Marion, who had a strong night, a Barea driving shot was blocked by Thornton.
Marion then missed two point-blank tries and the Warriors came away with the
ball and the game.

the bench, and he took advantage with eight first-half points. He finished
