With a custom-fitted plastic mask to protect his facial-bone fracture, Terry went through practice Monday with no problems. "Jet has a track record of missing very few games," coach Rick Carlisle said. "He's always come back earlier than expected. The injury was serious, but the fracture was such that it was a lower timetable than it could have been. It could have been several weeks." Instead, Terry could be playing Wednesday, or Saturday against Boston at the latest. Briefly: Jason Kidd was held out of practice just to keep him as fresh as possible. He turns 37 next Tuesday. ... The Purple PingPong event hosted by Carlisle was hoping to raise $50,000, and that goal was surpassed, Carlisle said. It was a fun event, although it did require some off-day contributions by the players. As Dirk Nowitzki said jokingly: "I was in the gym four hours yesterday working on my pingpong game, so I didn't get any rest." ...
