DAMPIER REMAINS IN OKC
Dallas center Erick Dampier remained in Oklahoma City overnight after
sustaining an open dislocation to his right middle finger in the fourth
quarter. Dampier was scheduled to have surgery on the injury and is expected
to join the team in Dallas for tonight’s game against Phoenix.
Dampier, who has missed 14 games this season, had missed three of the
previous four games with minor swelling in his knee. With Haywood now on the
roster, the Mavs have some insurance if Dampier continues to battle injuries.
