Mavs give Howard 4-year deal

Josh Howard has agreed to a four-year contract
extension that will keep the core of the Mavericks
together through the 2010-11 season.
小豪同意一個到2010～2011年球季的4年延長合約，這個合約
可以讓小牛隊保有目前的核心陣容。
Howard's deal, expected to be signed Friday, will be
for approximately $40 million. The first season is expected
to be for between $8 million and $9 million.
這項大約四千萬美元的合約，可望在禮拜五簽下。小豪第一年
則是可以拿到八百到九百萬美元。
"That's one thing that Cubes (owner Mark Cuban)
has always stressed - keeping this core together,"
Howard said. He added that the Mavericks had
"a three-headed monster" with Dirk Nowitzki, Michael Finley
and Steve Nash. That group was broken up, starting with
Nash's departure in 2004.

Howard said he and his agent talked about getting a
fifth year in the deal. But in the end, four years
was palatable for both sides.

一紙五年的合約。但最後，四年的合約對小牛及Howard都好。
"We worked out a deal that was best for me as a player
and best for them as an organization," Howard said.

Howard's rookie contract will pay him slightly
under $1.6 million this season. If he had not
agreed to an extension before Oct. 31, he would
have been a restricted free agent after this season.

少一些。如果他在十月底前不同意以上的延長合約，他明年將會成為
一位受限制的自由球員。
"It's a blessing for me and my family," he said.
"I'm going to take it and run with it."

Cuban said the Mavericks were thrilled to have their
three best players, along with coach Avery Johnson,
locked up with long-term contracts. Nowitzki signed
a three-year extension before training camp, and Terry signed a
six-year deal in August. Avery's five-year deal was agreed
to last week.
"Sometimes, Indiana math was different than Wake Forest math,"
Cuban said of negotiations with the former Demon Deacon.
"But Josh has been great for this organization, and we're glad
to have him for five more years. It's nice to get it out of the way."

幾天前才在擔心小豪的合約，沒想到事情這麼快就有180度的轉變，而且還是個
Happy Ending :D
今天的對公鹿的熱身賽總算贏了，而且還是樂勝，第三節打的太棒了！
