Suppose that a binary message (either“0”or“1”) must be sent from location
A to location B. Assume the message“0”or“1”is sent using -2V an 2V with
equal probability. The data sent over the channel is subject to a noise, N,
that is a Standard Normal random variable. Then the value received at
location B can be expressed as R=2+N or R=-2+N, please find:
(a) PDF of R given message=1
(b) PDF of R
When the message is received at location B, the receiver makes a decision
according to the following rule: If R>0, decides“1”, otherwise decides“0”
, please find:
(c) Average probability of error
(d) Repeat (c), if R>0.5, decides“1”, otherwise decides“0”
