But it has also become a place for Jeter to make major life announcements, like when he confirmed his engagement to Hannah Davis. Or, as on Monday, when Hannah announced that she is expecting a daughter. Yes, Jeter will be a father. And as with Jeter's engagement announcement, the news came in an otherwise inconspicuous article on The Players' Tribune. Written by Hannah and titled, "The Derek I Know," the post describes the early days of the couple's relationship and how she eventually grew to realize she was dating Derek Jeter. And then, two-thirds of the way through, she drops a bombshell: "Now, pregnant with our first child, Derek and I are looking to the future." Talk about burying the lede.
