The Braves released Michael Bourn The Braves released outfielder Michael Bourn on Tuesday, David O’Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. It’s not exactly surprising, as the Braves designated him for assignment on April 2 and had 10 days to trade or release him. As they couldn’t find any trade interest, they released him. The Diamondbacks reportedly had interest in Bourn after A.J. Pollock suffered a fractured right elbow, but have thus far utilized Socrates Brito and Chris Owings in center field. Bourn, 33, hit a disappointing .238/.310/.282 with 17 stolen bases in 482 plate appearances between the Indians and Braves last season.
