Sep 27 The San Francisco Giants have informed Cabrera's agent they won't bring the suspended outfielder back at any point this postseason. Advice: Manager Bruce Bochy made the announcement Thursday. Bochy says the NL West champion Giants will move forward into the best-of-five divisional series with the 25 players they have. Cabrera's suspension takes him through the first five games of the playoffs, so he would have been eligible in the NL championsh ip series if San Francisco advanced. Recommendation: Colon will have only missed 40 games by the time the regular season ends, so the A's would need to complete ten playoff games before he could return. It seems unlikely the team would save a postseason roster spot for him in any case, so he likely won't resurface until the 2013 season.
