http://ppt.cc/P2Ik ST. LOUIS -- Not only did the Texas Rangers lose Game 6 of the World Series in painful fashion, but two of their biggest offensive weapons were injured. Outfielder Nelson Cruz suffered a strained right groin in his final at-bat of the St. Louis Cardinals' 10-9, 11-inning victory Thursday night. Cruz is listed as day to day. He did not take the field in the bottom of the 11th after hurting himself while flying out to lead off the top of the inning. Asked if he would play in Game 7, Cruz said, "Yeah." Manager Ron Washington said his pinch-hitting choice of Esteban German in the 11th for Scott Feldman was because he had just found out about the Cruz injury. Washington was thinking about Yorvit Torrealba, but went with German so he could go in the outfield for Cruz. X-rays on catcher Mike Napoli's left ankle were negative. Napoli rolled the ankle while going into second base awkwardly in the fourth inning. He remained in the game after being examined by the team trainer. Both players are having historic postseasons. Cruz hit his eighth home run of these playoffs Thursday, a solo shot that gave the Rangers a 6-4 lead in the seventh inning, to tie Barry Bonds and Carlos Beltran for most homers in a single postseason. Napoli drove in his 10th run of the World Series with his fourth-inning single. Only two players have more RBIs in a single World Series: New York Yankees teammates Bobby Richardson (12) and Mickey Mantle (11) in 1960. The ankle injury didn't affect Napoli's arm. He made a strong throw in the sixth inning to pick off Matt Holliday at third base after the Cardinals had tied the score 4-4 and were threatening with the bases loaded and one out. The Rangers escaped the inning without allowing any more damage. ============================================================================== Nelson Cruz 的部份 : 他在 11 局下被換下守備原因是右側鼠蹊部拉傷目前暫時列為 Day-to-Day 不過問到明天 G7 會不會上場他毫不遲疑的說 : Yes 教頭 Ron Washington 說他之所以 11 局上把 Esteban German 代打投手 Feldman 是因為他發現 Cruz 受傷原本考慮的代打是 Yorvit Torrealba 但是經過一番考慮後讓工具人 German 上去代打而順便替換 Cruz 的守備 Mike Napoli 的部份 : 他在四局上跑向二壘時有點傷到了腳踝之後他撐完全場賽後照 X 光檢查結果初步判定陰性反應沒意外的話明天就上去決一死戰他們二位正在朝季後賽紀錄邁進 Cruz 今天在七局敲出今年季後賽第 8 支 HR 目前追平 BB 爺和川哥的 8 轟的紀錄至於 Napoli 則打下世界大賽的第 10 分打點只有 NYY 在1960的 Bobby Richardson 的 12 分以及 Mickey Mantle 的 11 分比他更多腳踝的傷勢並未影響到他的傳球六下牽制在三壘的 Matt Holliday 導致紅鳥在那個半局的進攻只靠保送拿下一分進而發生後半段的僵持局面請條子多多保重別再受傷了 ...... -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc)
