New-Style English
Hey ... everybody knows English lessons can be really boring.
So here’s some cool new teaching ideas. Maybe you want to
try them with me.
1) movies ... watch movies together ... while we watch we
discuss the movie as free conversation ... the actors, the acting,
the story, the music ... you take the conversation anywhere
you want to go with this class.
2) e-teaching ... study online using video-chat software like
MSN or Skype ... you save time because you stay home,
you save money because there is no transportation cost.
‧ e-chat ... online video chat ... practice writing, speaking and
listening comprehension ... talk about your friends, your hobby,
your job ... some students ask questions about their school
homework ... it’s all OK and it’s all good English practice.
‧ e-composition ... this is a serious class that teaches English
composition ... special software lets two people in remote
computers write at the same time on the same MSWord
document ... this class produces a finished document at
the end of each class that the student can save for later
use or turn in to the teacher the next day.
3) computer games ... use English conversation while we
play computer games ... lots of real-time thinking and action in
English ... very useful for students who want to live overseas.
Excellent English practice, excellent fun.
