麻煩懂的人告訴我正確的意思我都搞不懂為何文章跑出這段來 Short先生到底是什麼身分? 前面的概述是Lawless跟Craven借款並獲允諾 Upon returning home, one of Marty’s first stops was to the office of his employer, where he resigned from his job. He also recommended Craven to a cab driver friend, Bill Short. Short had recently been rear ended by a beer truck and had suffered whiplash and other injuries. His cab, which he owned, was totaled. But a few days later he received a letter from Craven in which Craven wrote he had had a “big deal”come up and did not have the money to loan now. Craven thanked Lawless for the referral, expressed his regrets and said he hoped “We can get together real soon.” A few days thereafter Bill Short called to thank Lawless for referring him to Craven.Short advised Lawless that Craven had almost immediately negotiated a $500,000 settlement for him, as the beer distributorbut had wanted to avoid publicity from a lawsuit (it turned out that the beer truck driver was more than a little inebriated at the time of the accident).
