Several teams, including the Los Angeles Lakers, have been in contact with the guard and he knows that this may be his final chance to prove himself to teams. "Hopefully there will be some opportunities for me. I'm working extremely hard every day and going through this last year has been a very humbling experience for me. It really put a lot of stuff into perspective and hopefully things can work out in my favor this upcoming season," he said. "You're going to get great leadership qualities, a great locker room guy, someone who is going to work hard, and a guy who is going to be supportive. There are just so many things I've learned in just this past year alone and of course in the past seven years that I have to apply if I want to be an NBA player. I've learned and I spoke about that yesterday with representatives from the Lakers." Dixon's best season came with the Portland Trail Blazers in 2005 when he averaged 12.3 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 2.0 assists while starting in 42 games. He has averaged 8.4 points over the course of his seven year career and feels that he can still contribute if he lands on a roster. This offseason, we've seen many veteran point guards prepare to make comebacks. Players like Tyronn Lue and Damon Jones are working out at Impact Basketball in Las Vegas and are hoping to return to the league as well. With that said, Dixon is confident that he's the best option available. "I can tell you for sure, I have a lot in my tank. I got a lot of basketball, at a high level, left. Give me an opportunity to compete against those guys in workouts, I'd be more than happy to do that. I'm not working extremely hard every day for nothing. Like I said, I have a lot of basketball left and I'm looking forward to getting the opportunity that's out there," he said.
