Next Level Security Systems is looking for an experienced Senior
level Software Development Test Engineer to lead the QA team in
supporting our physical security products. Successful candidates
will be employing all methods of software testing, taking
ownership of test plans and developing the test automation
framework and software. Work closely with developers and support
to ensure every release is smooth, consistent, and awesome.
Responsibilities:
* Obtain a sufficient high-level understanding of NLSS systems and
software.
* Develop, architect, and maintain test automation software.
* Determine testing strategy, priority and scope for each development
iteration.
* Build test methodologies, test plans, and highly effective test
automation.
* Review bug descriptions, functional requirements, and design
documents, incorporating this information into test plans and test
cases.
* Maintain and operate test networks for use by engineering and
customer-facing teams.
* Identify blockers, manage code-lines, and drive the release process
to completion.
* Participate in the full software development lifecycle in an agile
environment.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
* Education: BS degree in computer science, related field, or
equivalent experience.
* 4+ years of engineering experience in software development, or
software quality assurance.
* Recent experience in software engineering and/or automated testing
and verification.
* 2+ years experience working in a Linux/Unix environment.
Required Qualifications
* Knowledgeable in OOP methodologies and best practices..
* Must be able to write clean reusable automation code.
* Working knowledge of Linux, REST, and SQL.
* Knowledge of Software Development and Test Cycle.
Desired Qualifications
* Experience developing test automation using Selenium or Watir.
* System or device level testing.
* Experience with web technologies, browsers, and servers
(Apache, Tomcat).
* Exposure to noSQL Databases like MongoDB.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Meticulous attention to detail and excellent debugging/
troubleshooting skills.
* Ability and passion to maintain high quality standards, be
self-motivated, a fast learner, and able to work independently.
* Knowledge of scripting languages like Perl, shell scripting, and
command line unix tools.
* Experience identifying/formulating test cases and building
automated test frameworks.
* Experience with software revision control systems (SVN / GIT).
* Experience programming web applications (Python, PHP, or Java).
* Experience testing User Interfaces.
