D'Antoni: 'Melo is probably day-to-day' http://tinyurl.com/76wbhx3 NEW YORK -- It was all looking up -- literally -- for Carmelo Anthony tonight. After he hit a 16-foot jumper in the opening minutes of the first quarter against the Jazz, he threw an alley-oop pass to Tyson Chandler. But a few seconds after that play, midway through the period, the Knicks called a 20-second timeout because they noticed Anthony tweaked something, and he grimaced and limped on the way to the bench. Shortly after, the Knicks confirmed Melo had suffered a strained right groin and would miss the remainder of the game. He returned to the bench later on in street clothes. During his postgame press conference, Mike D'Antoni said he's "probably day-to-day." "He'll be evaluated tomorrow," he said. "We’ll find out tomorrow. Obviously when you [hurt your groin], it’s going to be a couple days before we know the extent of that." Melo did not address the media after the game.
