Job Role: Java Developer / J2EE Programmer/Web Programming
Location: Systems Biology Research Center, GIST, Gwangju, South Korea (QS World University Ranking - 10th Rank in 2010, 14th Rank in 2009)
Transaction language: English
We are looking for candidates with following programming skills and exclusive development experience of 3yrs and above:
Stream 1 requirement:
Strong software development experience in web technologies with strong OO skills, good understanding of web architectures and experience in database programming.
1.Java Developer with J2EE and Web Services (Web Logic 9.0/Sun Application Server 9.0/Apache Axis) skills. Excellent grasp of Core java, experience in J2EE including JSP, Servlets, Struts framework.
2.Experience with JDBC using MySQL5 or Oracle (SQL, JDBC). Working knowledge of SQL on any RDBMS is required.
3.Good knowledge of XML, XSD, Xpath and XSL.
4.Working knowledge of Web Services (Web Logic 9.0/Sun Application server preferred/ Apache Axis), SOAP is an advantage but not mandatory.
5.Other desirable ( but not mandatory) technical skills : RDF, OWL, Maven, CSS, Design patterns (GOF)
Stream 2 requirements:
Strong software development experience in web application technologies with strong OO skills, good understanding of web architectures and experience in database programming.
1. Ajax, JavaScripts should have experience in at least one of the ajax/javascript frame work like dojo, prototype etc.
2.XHTML and CSS
3.Strong in Core java and MySQL5
4.Good working knowledge of XML technologies
Apart from the above the following general requirements apply to all candidates:
■Excellent communication skills with the ability to discuss technical issues with domain experts collect requirements and convert the requirements into design and implement it.
■Critical thinking, trouble shooting, and judgment and decision making abilities.
■Strong motivation to execute responsibility and with strong drive to keep up the commitment in stipulated time. Should have a passion to work on the project with personal interest and should always be intending to produce a quality product.
Job description:
Analyze software requirements to determine the feasibility of design within time and other resource constrain.
Design, develop, modify and test software system to support a ongoing large scale web application project, including large scale integration, data warehouse, analysis and visualization modules, to assist research in systems biology
Following are the expected state of art technologies the candidates would be involved while working in the project: Data warehouse, ontologies, OWL and RDF, Semantic web and web services. The project details can be discussed in details. The salary will be fixed depending on relevant experience and Candidate’s skills
