Next summer Kaohsiung will be hosting the first international multi-sports
event in Taiwan's history.
More than 4,000 athletes from almost 100 different countries will be competing
for medals in 31 different sports. 100,000 international and domestic tourists
are expected to visit our city during the 11 days of The World Games 2009.
23 venues all around the city will host different competitions. Two of them
are the recently-opened Kaohsiung Arena and the 50,000-spectator Main Stadium,
which will be finished by January 2009.
KOC (Kaohsiung Organizing Committee) is therefore looking for International
Volunteers for numerous interesting jobs before and during the Games.
Furthermore we are planning to have an information evening about The World
Games and volunteering opportunities, which will mainly focus on Kaohsiung's
international residents.
