拿我個人還滿欣賞的英國歌手Roddy Frame的歌來作見證好了。
在他最暢銷的專輯Surf裡的最後一首歌For What It Was裡的一小段是這麼寫的：
Wish my unhappiness could be addressed and sent
To all the rootless, fruitless hours that I have spent in dreams
希望我所有的不快樂，可以寫上地址，然後寄到那些我在夢中虛擲的時光。

我不知道這算是文學裡的哪種隱喻(metaphor)，不過這一小段歌詞，
我想你那個聽rap音樂的朋友，應該會稍微...奠奠一點。
但只有一小段，說服力實在不夠，但天又亮了.....
那我再附上他首張專輯The North Star裡的Strings，
這首歌裡的metaphor多如滿街狼犬橫行江湖，各種metaphor如雨後春筍春風吹又生.....
所以意涵就要靠您自己慢慢體驗、想像、瞭解了.....
