English teacher looks for joint language and cookery tuition!
I have lived in Taiwan as an English teacher for over 3 years, and have
developed a basic level of Chinese communication. I would, however, like to
learn some more practical skills which can only be learned while living here.
I used to enjoy cooking while at university, and I would love to expand my
range to include some traditionally Taiwanese and Chinese methods of cooking.
For this purpose, I am looking for somebody who would like to teach me some
Taiwanese cooking skills, and also the necessary language needed to express
myself in the kitchen. I do not have a proper kitchen at my apartment, so I
would have to take these lessons at my tutor's home, or some public location
with cooking facilities (if such a place exists). I would be happy to pay for
all ingredients needed, in addition to the tuition fee. I can also provide
some basic equipment, like pots, pans and a hotplate.
An unusual request, I know, but if you are interested, please email me at

mortally terrified of speaking Chinese on the telephone!
