This is the heartwarming moment a cat was rescued from deep waters following the freak flash flooding and storms that have lashed Dubai over the last two days.

In footage shared to X, formerly Twitter, a black and white feline can be seen hanging onto a car door handle as flood waters lap around it.

With drenched, flattened fur, the cat is filmed wide-eyed as it looks around at its rescuer - still clinging on to the submerged vehicle.

A hero police officer makes his way through the water in a small inflatable boat until he reaches the stranded pet, before leaning over to pull it off the door.
