The winds of war are blowing, and I am but a small boat,
Tossed about on the stormy seas.
Act I, Scene III
Enter CHINA and UNITED STATES, speaking in turn:
CHINA:
Taiwan, you are but a renegade province,
And must return to the fold.
Your independence is but a fleeting dream,
And will soon be crushed under our might.
UNITED STATES:
China, you have no right to Taiwan,
For she is a free and sovereign nation.
We will not stand idly by
And watch you annex her by force.
Act II, Scene I
Enter TAIWAN and CHORUS, speaking in unison:
TAIWAN and CHORUS:
O, what is to become of us,
Caught between these two great powers?
Our future hangs in the balance,
And war may well be upon us.
Act II, Scene II
Enter PEACE, speaking:
PEACE:
Taiwan, do not despair,
For there is hope for you yet.
Turn from the path of violence,
And seek a peaceful resolution.
Let us sit down and talk,
And find a way to coexist.
Act III, Scene I
Enter TAIWAN, CHINA, and UNITED STATES, speaking in turn:
TAIWAN:
China and United States, we hear your words,
And we are willing to talk.
Let us put aside our differences,
And find a way to live in peace.
CHINA:
Very well, Taiwan, we shall hear you out.
But know that we will not compromise
On the matter of your sovereignty.
UNITED STATES:
China, we too are willing to talk,
But we will not stand by
And watch you violate Taiwan's autonomy.
Act III, Scene II
Enter PEACE, speaking:
PEACE:
Taiwan, China, United States,
Hear my words and heed my call.
Let us put aside our differences,
And find a way to live in peace.
Let us work together,
And build a better future for all.
CHORUS:
And so, with peace restored,
Taiwan stands tall,
Free and independent,
And at last, at peace.
