RHP Vicente Padilla was placed on the disabled list because of a bulging disk
in his neck, and reliever Travis Schlichting was called up from Class AAA
Albuquerque. It is Padilla's second trip to the DL this season; he missed
eight weeks earlier in the year because of a sore elbow.
