Mapped addresses are for dual stack hosts and sockets with IPV6_ONLY
turned off.  They work much better when the IPv4 side of the stack
has been upgraded to support all of the new features of IPv6 socket
api like packet info so that the application doesn't need to remember
if it is talking to a IPv4 or IPv6 destination.
