帝的艾爾帕西諾，在一項由英國電視台舉行的觀眾票選中，高票「凍蒜」成為英
國影迷心目中「一百位電影史上最偉大的影星」榜首。另一位奧斯卡影帝勞勃狄
尼洛則在票選中獲得第二名。
在英國電視台第四頻道(Channel 4)舉行的觀眾票選活動中，主辦單位讓觀
眾投票選出影迷們心目中的一百位影史上最偉大的電影明星，參與投票觀眾達兩
萬五千人，結果六十三歲的美國男星艾爾帕西諾拔得頭籌。
有趣的是，這項影史上最偉大明星的投票統計活動，英國觀眾竟然「胳臂向
外彎」選出第一名到第六名通通都是美國演員，獲得最高名次的英國演員為排名
第七的「沉默的羔羊」奧斯卡影帝安東尼霍普金斯。
緊接著英國男星西恩康納萊、伊旺麥奎格則分別排在第八、第九名。
一九四０年生於紐約的艾爾帕西諾，雙親是來自義大利的移民，一九七二年
他以「教父」中黑手黨老大的精彩演出，為演藝事業奠下堅強基礎。相隔二十年
後，他終於以「女人香」勇奪奧斯卡最佳男主角。
同樣出生於紐約的「蠻牛」奧斯卡影帝勞勃狄尼洛，在這項票選中獲得第二
名。獲得第三名、第四名與第六名的湯姆漢克斯、凱文史貝西及傑克尼克遜也都
是曾獲奧斯卡最佳男主角的實力派演員。
老牌影星哈里遜福特在這份票選中擠上第五名的位置，在名列前茅的眾多奧
斯卡影帝中顯得格外突出，由此可見英國影迷對這位「法櫃奇兵」老將的高度喜
愛。
這份民調結果顯示，英國影迷心中的史上最偉大影星前十名通通由男演員包
辦。
在所有的女明星當中，票選結果獲得最高名次的便是已故的「羅馬假期」女
星奧黛莉赫本，她在這項投票結果中獲得第十三名。

Al Pacino voted greatest film star
LONDON (Reuters) - "Godfather" star Al Pacino has been named the
greatest movie star of all time in a poll of film fans.
Italian-American Pacino topped the Channel 4 television poll to find
the 100 greatest movie stars, followed by Robert de Niro, who played
his father in "The Godfather II".
The results, broadcast on Sunday and Monday, reflected a strong bias
towards the current generation of male actors.
Known for a string of gritty roles, Pacino, 63, was twice nominated for
an Oscar for his performances as Michael Corleone in Francis Ford
Coppola's "Godfather" movies but did not win.
Pacino picked up an Oscar in 1992 for a more tender role as
embittered blind army veteran in "Scent of a Woman"
Tom Hanks and Kevin Spacey came in at number three and four,
followed by Harrison Ford and Jack Nicholson in fifth and sixth position.
More than 25,000 votes were cast in the poll. The highest placed
British star was Anthony Hopkins at number seven, ahead of Sean
Connery at eight and Ewan McGregor at nine.
The 32-year-old Scottish actor was the youngest Top 10 entry. Cary
Grant, star of classics such as "North by Northwest", was the highest
posthumous placing at number 10.
There were no actresses in the Top 10. "Breakfast at Tiffany's" star
Audrey Hepburn was the highest female entry at number 13, while
Sigourney Weaver, best known for her roles in the "Alien" movies,
took 20th place.
This year's Oscar winner Catherine Zeta-Jones did not make the list,
but her husband Michael Douglas came in at number 100.
The list of candidates was compiled by a panel of film critics and
filmmakers, with voting taking place on the Channel 4 website and by
text message over a six-week period.
