[Talk] Discussion topics消失
As mentioned in my intro, here are some conversation topics we used
in my conversation class:
1. If I won the lottery/NT$100,000,000, I would... (including why...
priorities can then be discussion points, or investing vs spending
etc)
2. The most important holiday/tradition for me is...
3. My favorite sport(s)
4. My favorite hobbies
5. My pets/my dream pet (difficult/easy to raise,
things have to do to take care of it, personality of pet)
6. My favorite TV series/movies
7. Technology I could/couldn't live without
8. Things I like to read (bbs/ptt counts…which boards?)
9. My favorite food/food I cannot stand
10. The importance of values and ethics
- In business, in friendships, in school
11. The significance of a good job
- Like to do vs money (are both considered a good job?
What is a “good job” in your opinion?)
12. What you look for in a significant other?
Of course most of these are totally obvious XD
A few others that can be used as discussions (trying to come to
agreement or finally having to agree to disagree):
1. The government - and not the children - should take care of the
old.
2. People who marry for money deserve all they get.
3. Everybody is basically selfish.
4. Where there's a will, there's a way.
5. Married people lead a happier life than those who aren't.
6. The more people get paid, the harder they work.
7. Living at home is better than moving out, even if you can afford it.
8. Machismo (大男子氣概) is worldwide.
You could even make some of them into a debate, where you defend one
position or the other (doesn't matter if you actually agree or not,
you still try to come up with convincing arguments for whichever
stand you're taking).
Hope at least some of these have given some of you some ideas for
discussion :)
