I'm a western girl who's lived in Taiwan for almost five years,
and English is my 'father-tongue'.
I taught an English conversation class for MBA students down south
(as in Southern Taiwan), and figured perhaps if this board's
members ever have 'conversation-dates' on msn or skype, I'd offer
up some of the topics we chatted about (though I'm sure you all
can come up with topics easily enough...just thought these could
be back-up).
We would be in pairs or threes, and chat about each topic for
about 5 minutes, then switch partners and topics.
Of course if you're getting really into the discussion it can go
for longer, or if it's just not tickling your fancy you could
move right along.
Another idea I had was riddles. People could post a riddle, and others
can ask yes and no questions (if you know the answer already, you
could ask leading questions to help the others out). The author could
then edit their post to answer after each 'push' question.
Just an idea (or two) ^^
