[Ask ] How to make such request politely?
Dear all,
I am now in UK for my master degree. Recently I am planning a birthday surprise
for my boy friend who is in his military service. The plan is to find
twenty-four people in different places write postcards for him. It doesn't need
many words for that postcard, a few words is already lovely. And I will also
take a picture with single person who writes the postcard with the slogan
"Happy birthday to Paul..". Those people might be my flat mate or friends from
Taiwan even other countries(it is much easier!) However, I also want to ask
people who I encounter during daily life or a trip (most of them might be
native speakers.) I know it is really weird to ask a stranger for such big
help. But I think it would be more memorable to do it. Could anyone suggest
me how to present such request without letting other people think I am a
cheater or psycho....... I will very appreciate to any suggestion.
