[單字] 為什麼genitals(生殖器)恆用複數形？

跟剛剛那題有一點相關
genital (adj) 生殖的/生殖器的
genitals(genitalia) (n)
= 生殖器 (plurar)
為什麼一個生殖器必須恆用複數形？
是因為
male genitals consist of 2 testicles(睪X) and a penis(陰X)
&
female genitals consist of the labia(陰X) and the clitoris(陰X)
