[請益] 資訊(IT)領域 machine 翻中文
最近在翻一篇跟網路技術有關的短文，裡面用了很多 machine
其實 machine 就是電腦或是server的意思，不過也可以指大家手上的
smartphone 或是行動裝置
IBM International Business Machines 是翻成 國際商業機器
我個人不是很喜歡「機器」，不過通常電腦書直翻
因為我總覺得機器比較像是有可動元件的東西(像是 motor)，涉指範圍有點廣
另外是「機器」一詞沒有擬人的意象吧？
有時候文章會把當 machine 行為當做是人一樣來描述
ex: how do the machines tell each other?
有考慮翻成「電腦」或是「裝置」「設備」，不過理解起來還是有點怪
(教育部字典對電腦的釋意：
一種能接受資料，並按照人為指示的方法將它處理，並產出有用結果的裝置。)
不知各位看法？有點傾向把 machine 翻成電腦
例句：
1.
This happens all the time in real life and it happens all the time when
machines start talking too.
2.
So we need some way of having one machine tell another machine about a
resource that might be on yet another machine.
