[文法] 一小段文章的文法，麻煩幫忙解惑
小弟英文底子可能沒那麼好
最近每天都有在讀 The Economist 的文章
昨天讀到一篇結果第一段就卡住了
問了蠻多朋友也沒有人會 囧
我大概附一下他的標題跟前幾句
The spectre of past glories
How Britain turned the ruins of its empire into a mighty entertainment
imperium
以下是文章的部分
WAS ever a cinematic hero less of his time than James Bond is today? “Spectre
”, the 24th film in the series, exudes nostalgia for when men were men,
Britain was a superpower and political correctness had something to do with
Erskine May’s treatise on parliamentary procedure.
接著是我的一些小疑問：
1. 為什麼第一個 Was 開頭的句子在後面還會出現 is ?
還有第一句大概講的是什麼意思 @_@
2. for when men were men 指的是什麼意思?
3. 在第二行中的句子以經出現 exude 了，為何在","之後馬上又能接
Britain "was"而沒有使用連接詞
以上的問題可能都有點蠢qq
