[求譯] The Guardian 文章的某一段
大家好，小弟我剛剛在The Guardian上讀到一篇文章。
其中有一段實在很難懂，看了很久還是不知道怎麼拆解句子。
想來請教各位，如果遇到這樣的句子段落，該怎麼看。
Now the world is geared much more unforgivingly against
the late developer like me, and in favour of the kids
who grow up quickly and grasp reality first time around,
the ones who work hard, understand what the examiners
want and when the day comes, deliver.
好長的一個段落，只有一個句點。
尤其是後半段的部份，
那句 understand what the examiners want and when the day comes
的主詞應該是哪一個才對？
還有最後面的 deliver 不知道是要跟著哪個句子。
不知在看這樣的句子時有沒有什麼技巧可以幫助理解？
