[文法] infringe這個字
請問它到底能不能當及物動詞啊
我查字典是說可以及物也可以不及物
字典是有一個1913年的例句: the peace was ...... infringed by someone.
但是我實際使用時如果沒加個on或upon都會被某個老外糾正
是那個老外比較堅持不及物用法嗎?
謝謝
剛google到的
infringe is both transitive and intransitive. As a transitive verb it means
to violate or to break. For example, one might infringe the law by speeding
on the highway. As an intransitive verb, it’s synonymous with impinge—that
is, it also means encroach—and likewise takes on or upon.
所以如果我要說權利被侵害,就必須用不及物囉?
