原來股市震盪就叫bumpy！4個超好記的財經英語，學會也能看懂CNN

中國股市大起大跌，暗潮洶湧。英文裡有很多「生動」的字，一語道破。先前我們談過
動詞，像rise、climb、go up/down、drop這類基本用字，今天先來看較具挑戰性的形容
詞。看到這些字，經濟的動盪、股市的漲跌，驚心動魄的市場變化彷彿歷歷在目：
1.bumpy 波動的、動盪的
bump原指路面隆起之處，開車遇到bump，是不是會有巔簸動盪的感覺，這就是bumpy。
While waiting for the upturn, the longer-term investor can expect a pretty
bumpy ride.（市場回溫之前，長期投資者可能還得經歷一番周折。）
2.choppy 起伏的、多變的
choppy是從動詞chop來的。chop是個擬聲字，用刀去砍，切切切的那個聲音，形容詞
choppy有點像切刀的那個波浪狀動作，意為波濤洶湧，起伏多變。
With elections looming near the corner, the markets will continue to remain
choppy and this may keep investors away from the markets.（隨著大選越來越近，
市場仍然起伏多變，致使投資者卻步。）
3.hesitant 猶豫的、遲疑的
這字算常見，但我們習慣用它形容人，hesitant其實也可以形容市場。hesitant trading
是指交易市場不活躍。
Chicago soybean futures turned slightly lower in hesitant trading on Thursday.
（周四芝加哥黃豆期貨市場不活絡，小幅下跌。）
4.mixed 漲跌互見的
漲跌互見，英文用mixed這個字。
Technology stocks closed with mixed results on Wednesday.（高科技類股周三漲跌
互見。）
