[文法] 關於獨立結構
各位板友們好：
我今天在研究獨立結構的時候看到一個我不太能理解的例句，想向各位請教，
他提供的例句：
A number of officials followed the emperor, some to hold his robe, others
to adjust his girdle.
我理解的原句是這樣：
A number of officials followed the emperor. Some of the officials held his
robe, and others adjusted his girdle.
那為什麼不是寫成：
A number of officials followed the emperor, some holding his robe, others
adjusting his gridle.
因為兩句話的主詞不太一樣（應該吧？第一句是「全部」的官員，第二句是「部份」的
官員），所以主詞留著，再來因為hold跟adjust是主動動作所以改成Ving。
這種用to的寫法還是第一次看到，不是很能夠理解，請各位板友幫忙，謝謝。
