1. out of the blue = do not expect (好事或壞事都能用)
The girl gave him a kiss out of the blue.
2. catch someone off guard = 趁人不備(限用不好的事情)
They were caught off guard by the pirave attack.
3. without warning = 無預警地發生不好的事
These pirates, desiring both independence and wealth, usually attacked without
warning. (海盜為生存與財物常發動偷襲)
4. terrify
The girl was terrified when her father shouted at her.
The news of a tsunami terrified the neighboring contries.
5. exchange: give something in order to get something else back 交換/以物易物
They traveled to Northern Australia to exchange goods with the Aborigines.
6. Aborigines: original local people of Australia
7. pirate: 海盜/盜版者/侵犯著作權的人
After robbing the boat, these pirates sank the boat so nobody would find out.
(搶劫之後,海盜就把船弄沉了,這樣就沒人發現了)
These DVD pirates were persecuted and sentenced to jail.
(DVD盜版者被起訴並判刑監禁了)
8. crew: 船上或飛機上的工作人員組/(公司裡的)(維修)小組
The plane made an emergency landing. Luckily, all the passengers and the crew
were safe. (飛機緊急迫降,好在所有乘客與機組人員都平安)
The cruise ship's crew came from all different countries.
(郵輪上的工作人員來自世界各地)
