Studio Classroom (May 2nd, 2012)
1. leftover:
Here is some leftover spaghetti.(吃剩的義大利麵)
I had some leftovers for lunch.
2. geared toward: to focus on
This is a conference geared toward teen drug abuse awareness.
Studio Classroom's Friday Night Live Program is geared toward students
who are thirteen or older.
3. perpetually:
Valerie is perpetually late for her job.
Brenda perpetually cut in our discussion which annoyed everyone.
perpetual nagging (不斷嘮叨)
4. proficiency: 精通/熟練/over and over again
William's proficiency in computer programming got him many job offers.
Nathan's proficiency in music is remarkable.
5. sock something away: 存起來
Mandy tried to sock some of her salary away each month for her son's college
fund.
Ted already socked thousands of dollars away in his savings account.
6. deposit/withdraw:
You can even have your bank automatically withdraw money from your account at
the beginning of each month and deposit it in an investment or saving account.
7. assumption:
This happens when people make the assumption that they will follow a budget
and save whatever extra money is left over. Unfortunately, when the end of the
month arrives, they rarely have anything left.
