[文法] whatever 後面接什麼 ?
1. Whatever its applications, nanotechnology will certainly continue to
surprise us.
2. The building must be saved, whatever the cost.
想請問以上兩句話的 whatever，都等於 no matter what 嗎?
1. No matter what its applications, nano......
2. The building must be saved, no matter what the cost.
可是可以直接加 所有格 或 定冠詞 嗎?
我知道 Whatever decision he made, he ......
(whatever + N.)
= No matter what decision he made, he........
但以上兩句話的 whatever 卻讓我有點搞糊塗了 @.@a
還是說原來應該是
Whatever its applications are, nano......
而 are 可以被省略?????
