[請益] take place 與 take place off
請教各位強者，剛剛在讀文章時看到一個例句是：
The first drill would take place off the coast of Virginia within two years.
請問 take place 以及 take place off 的差異是該如何解釋呢？
在下覺得加上 off 讀起來比較順，但很想知道若用文法該解釋，麻煩大家了
