最近複習高中英文，有一個題目感到困惑

1.2 合併成:
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone soon become a bestseller
"attracting" the attention of both the young and the old all over the world.
我想問：
attracting 是不是應該改成attracted？
我個人認為attract在文中應該是有被動的意思(being p.p，省略being)....
板上大大可否告訴我我的想法對不對？
如果不對，請告訴我原因...讓我知道錯在哪....感激不盡!
