1-040615 trip
three consecutive holidays for
february 28th seems just past, but
now four holidays in a row for tomb
sweeping day remain less than a half
hour. time gxx dxxx flies.
nearly two months ago jacie and mary
made a schedule for visiting the
relatives in taipei, but there were
some problems from mary which almost
kept us home during the holidays and
irritate jacie. fortunately all the
problems were completely solved and
the two-day schedule still worked,
and everybody expected it very much.
(in fact, dad did not feel like
going and i definitely did not want
to because i dislike meeting someone;
i was not sure whether or not dad's
reason was the same as mine; in any
case, it did not matter anymore. for
me, except sweeping aunt's tomb,
chitchatting with younger cousins and
seeing mountain scenery and valley,
actually i was a "tool-man" for two
days, a driver, no more, no less.)
on the first day, we departed at 7:30
and had lunch at the kuaihsi service
area for almost an hour. well, 99% of
food at service areas is very
expensive and not delicious, and i do
not know why they always feel
unsatisfied with the food there after
eating. they all know the food there
is bad and costs a lot, so stop
complaining, please. if i were them
when being starving, i would rather
spend nt$100 the most on some snacks
and drinks than wasting over nt$100
on any meals or boxed meals. i do not
want to waste any bucks on the food
like sxxt. nevertheless, i do not
think that they will learn a lesson
even though next time i remind them.
finally we arrived at the relatives'
home at 13:30; it totally took us six
hours to taipei. we were supposed to
get there an hour earlier. i do not
like that, so do they. however, they
do not even think about why. as a
matter of fact, the problem i have
mentioned for several times is so
simple, out travelling custom. they
always postpone the departure time
for at least an hour, get the
picture? so, they still hope to
arrive before noon? it is imppossible
unless speeding.
all of us had dinner on the second
floor of a store next to a park about
one and a half kilometer away. the
curry beef noodles i ordered was not
bad, but i am confused about thin
noodles. doesthe store manager
provide think ones as well? (i am
old. in order to avoid forgetting the
store, particularly describing it is
a must.)
for the second day, we swept aunt's
tomb on the yangminshan at 9:00
sharp, and then went to a higher
place surrounded by mountain ranges
and farms for a short break. at about
11:00, we had lunch in a restaurant
nearby. the only word i can describe
the restaurant owner is tricky, and
anyhow i will not visit there anymore.
jacie planned to stay in taipei for
two more days and will return on
tuesday noon. there is no doubt that
she must ask me for a ride by car.
see? the request message was received
by line at 1:30 in the very early
morning. the "tool-man" mission has
not accomplished yet.
the route back home was not
complicated for me because four years
ago i have driven here and now i still
recognize few key roads. the nearest
interchange was found easily and i
took the ramp to the highway 1; for
saving some time, this time i did not
chooose the highway 2 in taoyuan as
before but took the cloverleaf of
hsinchu interchange system to highway
3. we stopped twice at atwo service
areas for taking a leak and sauages.
we arrived home at almost 18:00 and
this time i took four and a half hours
to get home. i can accept that.
it was really good on both days. i had
sunburn on my forearm, and it looks
funny that two different colors exist
on the same arm. within two days,
obviously, lulu looks so cheerful and
has quality time. after getting home,
it was exhausted and often sleeping
yesterday, yet it looks active as
usual today.
i have no idea what the dates are for
next consecutive holidays, but i
expect younger cousins to come to the
south very much and let us go out for
picnic, bbq or sightseeing together.
